Kings of Leon – Supersoaker

Kings of Leon are probably one of the few remaining relevant acts that truly rocks. We desperately short on good ole fashioned rock and roll these days, but hopefully come Sept 24, Kings of Leon’s new album¬†Mechanical Bull¬†will fill the void. The first single “Supersoaker” is classic KOL, and its so satisfying to listen to

Avicii – Wake Me Up (Feat. Aloe Blacc)

Avicii has been getting tons of flac for his new material being “different.” My opinion – the haters are crazy. While his new music was probably best premiered in a setting other than Ultra Music Festival, it doesn’t take away from the innovation and pure quality of the records. Avicii is pushing the limits of dance music and synthesizing incredibly diverse sounds with ease, and that should be recognized above all else. “Wake Me Up” is the first single off his upcoming debut album #TRUE – and it features the uber talented Aloe Blacc. This one has been stuck in my head for days, and if you give it a listen, I think you’ll love it too

CHVRCHES had one of the more under-rated performances at Sasquatch, but everyone who stuck it out and went to watch them in the rain at 1:30 will be pretty stoked when these guys make it big. Honestly can’t name a group making catchier music than CHVRCHES right now. Brand new single “Gun” with a sexy downtempo mix by Jamie Isaac – hopefully much more of this on their upcoming debut album set to release in the fall.

Empire of the Sun – Alive (Mat Zo Remix)

Alive Remixes

Mat Zo is on fire. After dropping one of the most innovative and unique Essential Mixes of the year, he continues his hot streak by crafting the hands down best remix of Empire of the Sun’s new single (beating out worthy renditions by Guetta and Zedd). Take a listen here and you’ll understand why few people will disagree that Mat Zo has become one of dance music’s premier talents.
