Best of Ultra

As much as I wanted to be in Miami for Ultra this weekend, I had to settle for watching live streams and pouring over music blogs to catch what was happening.  Both Beat My Day and Dancing Astronaut  have extensive Ultra coverage, and I encourage you guys to check those guys out if you want more in depth analysis.  Hands down two of the best Electronic music blogs out there.  I’ll give you the spark notes version.  Lots of amazing music was thrown down this weekend, so without further ado, here’s the best of what I found:

Avicii dropped a new remix of Madonna’s Girl Gone Wild, which is pretty much what you expect from Avicii, off the chain.  Here’s his full set, with intro from Madonna, latter of which was blasted by Deadmau5, and deservedly so.

Tracklist:

00. Intro w/ Madonna presenting Avicii
01. Madonna – Girl Gone Wild (Avicii Remix)

10. ID (39min)
11. Avicii – Levels [Le7els / Universal] w/ Gotye feat. Kimbra – Somebody That I Used To Know (Acappella) w/ Avicii – Levels (Vitzi’s Old School Intro Edit) [Le7els / Universal]

David Guetta dropped his new track “Metropolis,” a collab with Nicky Romero that is due out April 2.  Guetta’s set was one of my favorites, and you can listen to and download the whole thing here.  Both Guetta and Avicii played a HUGE bootleg of Levels with an acappella of Somebody You Used to Know that was the highlight of their sets for me.  You can hear it at 40.00 in Guetta’s set and at about 50.00 in Avicii’s.

Afrojack’s set was also loaded with fresh music.  I wrote about one song particularly before, but it definitely merits repeating.  Around 24.00 is where he throws it down, with support from Lil Jon.  Its pretty much massive.
